Christopher W. Mahl

Independent software, built with intent.

I'm a self-taught developer using Fedora who makes small, private tools that do one thing well, and I've spent years working busy dining rooms, a different sort of real-time systems work.

What I do

Two disciplines, one standard.

Software

Local-first apps, browser tools, and privately run AI systems. I learn by building, ship software that works, and care about how a thing is structured, not just whether it runs.

Hospitality

Several years of front-of-house and bar experience. Fast, efficient, and genuinely good with people even when the room is full. Service at a high level is systems work with a human face.

Selected work

Small tools, built to be owned.

Threadkeeper

A Firefox extension that exports your ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini conversations, individually, in bulk or selected, as clean Markdown or JSON, featuring full-text search across every thread.

AlgoZap

A Firefox and Chrome extension that catches manipulative rhetoric in social-media posts, explains the tactic in plain language, and drafts three styles of reply. Live on both add-on stores.
